Privacy Policy

Last updated 2 September 2026

The short version

  • Your footage never leaves your phone. Clips, reps and splits are stored inside the app on your device. RepSplit has no account and no cloud.
  • Anonymous usage counts, with an off switch. The app sends events like "clip imported" or "export completed" to Aptabase, hosted in the EU. No identifiers, no footage. Turn it off in Settings → Privacy.
  • Apple handles the Pro purchase. We never see your name, card or address.
  • This website uses Google Analytics only if you accept the cookie banner. Decline and nothing from Google loads.

1. Who we are

RepSplit is made by Endcode S.R.L., Via Giovanni Durando 38, Milan, Italy (VAT IT10560900960). Endcode is the data controller for the processing described on this page.

This policy covers the RepSplit iPhone app, available on the App Store, and this website at repsplit.com. Questions and requests go through the contact form on endcode.com.

2. The RepSplit app

2.1 Your footage and sessions stay on your device

RepSplit works without an account. Everything you make in the app is stored in the app's own storage on your iPhone:

  • The video clips you import.
  • The reps you mark, the splits and pace the app calculates from them, and the movement you choose for each session.
  • Movements you create yourself.
  • Your style choices (look, corner, which stats to show) and your settings.

None of this is sent to us or to anyone else. When you import from Photos, the app uses the system photo picker, so it only ever sees the clip you choose, not your library. Exported videos are written where you send them: Photos, Files or the app you share to. Deleting RepSplit deletes everything it stored.

RepSplit does not use the camera, the microphone, your location, your contacts or your health data.

2.2 Anonymous usage counts

To see which features get used, the app sends a small number of events to Aptabase, an analytics service whose servers for our project are in the European Union. RepSplit talks to Aptabase directly, with no third-party code inside the app.

Each event carries:

  • The event name, such as app opened, clip imported, reps marked, style picked, export completed or export failed.
  • Counts and durations that go with it, such as how many reps a set had or how long a render took. Where a value comes from something you typed, only its length is sent, never the text.
  • Whether the export used the free or the Pro tier, and whether a purchase or restore succeeded. No price, transaction or receipt.
  • Your language and region (for example en-GB), the iOS version, the app version and the iPhone model.
  • A random session number created when the app launches and forgotten when it closes.

There is no user ID, no advertising identifier, no device identifier, no IP-based location, and never your footage or the names you give your own movements. We cannot tell which events came from which person, and we do not try to.

You can turn this off. Open the app, go to Settings → Privacy and switch off Anonymous analytics. From then on the app sends nothing at all, not even a note that you opted out. We keep these statistics in aggregate for as long as we develop the app.

The App Store's privacy label for RepSplit lists this as Product Interaction, Purchase History and Diagnostics, all under Analytics, not linked to you and not used for tracking. That label, the app's privacy manifest and this page describe the same thing.

2.3 Buying Pro

Pro is a one-time purchase made through Apple's in-app purchase system. Apple processes the payment and holds your account details. We receive no name, email, card number or address, only a confirmation from Apple that the purchase is valid, which the app keeps on your device so Pro stays unlocked. Apple's handling of your data is covered by Apple's privacy policy.

2.4 Support

If you write to us, through the contact form or the support button in the app's Settings, we receive your email address, what you write, and, if you use the button in Settings, the app version and iPhone model it fills in for you. We use this only to answer you and keep the thread for as long as it is useful to do so, then delete it.

3.1 Hosting

repsplit.com is a static site served from Amazon Web Services (Amazon S3 and CloudFront). To deliver the pages, AWS processes your IP address and standard request data. We do not use this to identify visitors.

Fonts are served from our own domain, so no request goes to a font provider.

3.2 Google Analytics, only with your consent

We would like to know how many people visit and which pages they read. For that we use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited. It runs only after you click Accept in the cookie banner. If you decline, or make no choice, nothing from Google is loaded and no analytics cookies are set.

If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies named _ga and _ga_* on your browser (they last up to two years) and records pages viewed, approximate location derived from a truncated IP address, browser and device type, and how you arrived. We have advertising features and data sharing with Google products switched off. Google may process this data in the United States under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses. See Google's privacy policy and how Google uses data from sites that use its services.

You can change your mind at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer. Choosing Decline there removes the analytics cookies from this domain.

Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage under the key rs-consent. That is the only thing this site stores on your device without asking.

3.3 Links to other sites

The site links to the App Store and to Apple's standard licence agreement. Those pages are Apple's, and Apple's policies apply there.

4. Why we are allowed to process this data

Under the GDPR, every use of personal data needs a legal basis. Ours are:

  • Anonymous app analytics: our legitimate interest in understanding how the app is used, balanced by collecting no identifiers and offering an off switch (Article 6(1)(f)).
  • Website analytics cookies: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) and the ePrivacy rules), which you can withdraw at any time.
  • Pro purchase: performing the contract you enter when you buy (Article 6(1)(b)). Apple is the party that processes the payment.
  • Support: our legitimate interest in answering the people who write to us (Article 6(1)(f)).
  • Serving the website: our legitimate interest in running a secure, working site (Article 6(1)(f)).

We do not sell personal data, do not use advertising networks, and do not combine anything we hold with data from other companies about you.

5. Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, delete or export the personal data we hold about you, to restrict how we use it, or to object to a use based on legitimate interest. Send the request through the contact form on endcode.com and we will answer within a month.

Two practical notes. The app's analytics events are anonymous, so we cannot find or delete the events from a particular person; the off switch in Settings is the way to stop them. And because your clips and sessions are stored only on your phone, deleting them is something you do yourself, either inside the app or by deleting the app.

If you think we have handled your data wrongly, you can complain to the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, or to the authority in the EU country where you live.

6. Children

RepSplit is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, tell us and we will delete it.

7. Changes to this policy

If RepSplit starts doing something new with data, for example if cloud sync ships, this page is updated before that feature goes live and the date at the top changes. The app links to this page from Settings so the current version is always one tap away.
